Some countries have made travel insurance mandatory, we recommend you to check the guidelines of the countries you are travelling to. However, a travel insurance policy can also be considered necessary from a financial loss protection point of view for travellers. There are several uncertainties involved with travelling, and having insurance will ensure there are no huge out-of-pocket expenses in such cases.

In case your trip gets rescheduled, you can update the new travel dates through the Acko app itself. Just tap on the ‘edit policy’ icon on your policy page and update the dates. In case there is a price impact, you can pay the additional price to save your changes. If there is a refund applicable, we will automatically process your refund and you will receive the amount in your source account within 2-3 days

Sure, you can cancel your policy before the trip start date through the Acko app itself. Simply follow the below steps- 

  • Login to the Acko app from the registered mobile number
  • Select your travel policy from the ‘my policies’ section
  • Tap on the ‘cancel policy’ icon and select your reason for cancellation
  • There will be a flat cancellation fee of Rs. 100 (as certain benefits are covered from your booking date itself) and the remaining amount will be transferred back to your account within 2-3 working days. 

Please note, no cancellation will be allowed after the trip start date. 

Once we receive all the required documents, we will take 2-3 days to process your claim. For any claim-related updates, feel free to reach out to us on [email protected]

Sorry, you cannot add more passengers to the same policy after purchase. However, you can get insurance for other passengers separately. 

We do not cover any pre-existing diseases as of now 

Yes, all your flights from your departure from India to your return to India will be covered under your plan. Please note that this plan will not cover the domestic flights you take within India.

Steps to raise a reimbursement claim-

  • Login to the Acko app with your registered mobile number
  • Select your travel policy from the ‘My Policy’ section 
  • In the ‘get help on the go’ section of your policy, select what you need to claim for 
  • Share details about what happened and upload your supporting documents 
  • Submit your claim and sit back, we will take it up from here! 

 

Steps to get help during an emergency situation (cashless hospitalisation, evacuation or emergency cash)- 

  • Write to [email protected] or give a missed call on 0124-6174722 from any mobile number with an active incoming call facility (WhatsApp call is not supported as of now) and you will get a callback from us in the next 10-15 minutes. We will collect the details over call/email and our team will start processing your request. 

No, you can give a missed call from any number (even landline number will work) as long as international roaming is enabled on that number. We will call you back within 10-15 mins on the same number through which we received the missed call and collect your details.  If you do not answer the call initially or if the number is unreachable, we will attempt to make three calls (in total) with a 15-minute interval between each attempt. Please note that WhatsApp calls are not supported as of now. 

Definitely. We have a vast network of partner hospitals across the globe. To get the list of cashless hospitals in your area- 

  • Login to the Acko app with your registered mobile number
  • Select your travel policy from the ‘My Policy’ section 
  • On your policy page, tap on the ‘cashless hospitals’ icon from the quick actions tab
  • You will be able to see the list of network hospitals in your countries. Enter your pin code to see the hospitals available near your area 
  • You just need to show your policy document at the hospital's insurance desk and start your treatment. We will settle the bill directly with the hospital.
