    What you need to know:

At this age, your kid needs 10 to 12 hours of sleep. However, with an ever hectic lifestyle, it is important to maintain a balance and strike a routine so that your child gets the required hours of sleep. Decide sleeping hours and pattens for your child. Make sure your child sleeps between 7 to 9 PM in the night and be up by 6 and 8 AM. Your child will not normally be interested to take any naps and even if he does, it would be for a shorter time. Though ideally your child will need 10-12 hours of sleep, with school and other activities the kids now-a-days engage in, 9 hours average sleep is must to keep him healthy and energetic. Insufficient sleeping can lead to mood swings or behavioral problems that might impact his learning abilities in school. With the constant indulgence in TV, smart phones, tabs and other electronic gadgets it may lead to sleeping disorders.
