Are Grandparents the right persons to be baby sitters?

Your child is loved by so many people and one cannot possibly deny the fact that grandparents can impart some of the best practices to your child. They have unmatched experience that they can impart to their grandchild. While there could always be difference of opinion, but it is always advisable to find a middle ground and get it sorted out.Grandparents have the best interest in mind for the grandchild but sometimes, their parenting style may differ. If the styles are very different and no mid-way can be reached, then it is best to avoid leaving your child with the grandparent(s) because it can result in strained relationships.

Having said that, completely alienating the grandparents and not leaving the child with them, may actually breed animosity and thousands of question in the mind of the young child. Demarcate the scope and reach a common ground that is acceptable to both the parents and the grandparents. This enables a healthy relationship and also a set of knowledge that is wrapped in experience over the years. Please remember the fact that while taking any decision it is imperative to consider the best interest of the child.
