Badam ka Halwa

    Ingredients to make Badam ka Halwa:

    1 cup almonds (badam), ½ cup ghee, ¾ cup milk, 1 tbsp. wheat flour for crunchiness, ¾ cup sugar, 4-5 strands saffron (kesar), ½ tsp. cardamom (elaichi) powder

    Steps to make Badam ka Halwa:

    1. Soak the badam for 8 hours in water, drain and de-skin them.

    2. Blend the badam in mixer to a coarse mixture without any water. Heat ghee in a thick bottomed pan and add the almond mixture, mix well, and cook on a medium flame for 5 minutes while stirring constantly.

    3. Boil milk and water in a saucepan for 3-4 minutes and keep aside.

    4. Mix the wheat flour to the almond mixture and mix well and cook on medium flame for 4 minutes stirring continuously.

    5. Now add the milk-water mixture to the almond wheat mixture and mix well and cook on a medium flame for 5 minutes stirring constantly.

    6. Add sugar and give a good mix to avoid lumps, add the saffron, mix well, cook for 2 minutes while stirring continuously. Remove from heat and add cardamom powder and mix well.

    Badam ka Halwa is ready to be served to savour the delicious taste.
