Gondh Laddoo

A high calorie sweet, Gondh Laddoo, is made using edible gondh, which is rich in minerals like Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium. By adding sesame seeds which are a rich source of vital vitamins and minerals and lot of dry fruits, this rich nutritious snack is ideal and meets the energy requirements and boosts immunity.This sweet snack is consumed mainly during winters as its warm in nature.

    Ingredients to make Gondh Laddoo:

    1 cup Gondh, 1.5 cup wheat flour, 2 cups jaggery, 1 tbsp sesame seeds, 5-10 almonds, 5-10 cashews, 5-10 pistas, 1¼ cup ghee

    Steps to make Gondh Laddoo:

    1. In a kadhai, put ghee. Once warm, put small amounts of gondh at a time and saute. It will puff up. Remove the fried puffed up Gondh.

    2. In a pan, saute the wheat flour for 3-4 minutes on medium flame. Take it out in a plate.

    3. Prepare the jaggery syrup by melting the jaggery in little water. Filter the jaggery mixture and keep the strained syrup aside.

    4. Once the fried gondh cools down, press it with a rolling pin on the plate itself. This will give the gondh a finer texture.

    5. In a pan, saute the sesame seeds for 2 minutes. Remove and keep aside.

    6. In the same pan, add 1 tsp ghee and saute the finely chopped dry fruits for 2 minutes. Remove and keep aside.

    7. In a mixing bowl, add the gondh, wheat flour, sesame seeds and dry fruits. Pour the jaggery mixture and give a good mix.

    8. Take a small amount of the mixture and make a round laddoo.

    Healthy and tasty Gondh Laddoos are ready. Store them in an air tight container. Enjoy!
