Green Jeera Peas Poori is a versatile Indian food as it is relished as both a breakfast snack as well as a side-dish in Indian meals. It will pack in more nutrients in your meal as wholegrain (wheat) flour is rich in magnesium, selenium, niacin and folate. Pea puree adds on the protein, fibers and vitamins content of green jeera poori. The eclectic mix of herbs and spices add to the many health benefits of this dish. It is a very tasty and mouth watering dish liked by everyone irrespective of their age.

    Ingredients to make Green Jeera Peas Poori:

    Wheat flour-1 cup, salt-to taste, oil-1 cup, methi leaves-1/4 cup, peas puree-½ cup, cumin seeds-1 tsb, and water-1/3 cup

    Steps to make Green Jeera Peas Poori:

    1. Mix wheat flour, salt and oil in a bowl. Add cold water as required to knead a stiff dough.

    2. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds. When the cumin seeds begin to change colour, add green peas puree, methi leaves, and salt. Mix and cook.

    3. Take off the heat and set aside to cool. Divide the dough into equal portions. Roll each portion and press to make round pooris.

    4. Stuff each poori with the stuffing and further shape into a poori.

    5. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry the green jeera poori in medium hot oil till crisp and golden. Drain and place them on absorbent paper.

    Serve hot with a chutney of your choice.
