Khoa Anarsa is a sweet dish made from rice and jaggery and is a treat for the taste buds. It can be easily prepared on many special occasions and it tastes good as well. Your kiddo would love it!

    Ingredients to make Khoa Anarsa:

    1½ cup kolam rice, ½ cup jaggery, 7 tbsps ghee, 2 tbsps semolina, 2 tbsps sugar, ½ cup khoa

    Steps to make Khoa Anarsa:

    1. Soak rice for 6-7 hours and then drain them on an absorbent paper.

    2. Let them dry for 15-20 minutes. Then grind them to a smooth powder in a blender.

    3. Sift through a fine sieve and add jaggery, khoa and ghee to knead it into a soft dough.

    4. Do not use water, if needed use milk and keep it covered for 5-6 hours.

    5. Divide the dough into small portions and shape into round balls.

    6. Take semolina and sugar in a plate and mix well. Place a round ball into this mixture and coat it evenly from all the sides.

    7. Heat some ghee into a kadhai or non-stick pan and when its hot then place these balls into it. Shallow fry it and keep pouring ghee over it till it turns golden brown in color.

    Drain on an absorbent paper and serve when it is slightly warm.
