Onion Dosa

Onion dosa is a plain dosa with finely chopped onions topping over it, which gives it a very yummy taste. It can be eaten with sambhar, chutney or plainly without any side dish. It is loaded with carbs and proteins.

    Ingredients to make Onion Dosa:

    2 cup rice, 1 cup urad dal, 1 tbsp baking soda, coriander leaves, curry leaves, 1 onion chopped, salt

    Steps to make Onion Dosa:

    1. Wash and rinse urad dal and rice thoroughly. Soak the dal rice mixture for about 5-6 hours

    2. Blend the dal, rice mixture in a blender till bubbly. Add water as needed.

    3. Take out the batter in large bowl and set aside for 6-7 hours for fermentation.

    4. Now add salt and baking soda in the batter and mix well.

    5. In a bowl take chopped onion; add coriander leaves, chopped curry leaves, salt as per taste and mix well.

    6. Heat a dosa tawa, pout one full ladle of batter and spread it gently.

    7. Add the onion mixture as toping all over dosa.

    8. Sprinkle some oil around the edges of dosa. When dosa cooked from bottom flip it for a minute and cook from another side too.

    Onion Dosa is ready to serve.
