Instead of regular chole chawal, prepare this quick and easy one pot Pea Rice for your little one so that he can have it without making fuss. The chickpeas loaded with fiber and protein will help strengthening the immune system and builds strong bones of your child.

Contents
1 cup basmati rice, ½ cup cooked chickpeas, 1 onion chopped, 1 tomato chopped, 3 tbsp oil, 1 tsp cumin seeds, a pinch of asafoetida, ½ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp garam masala, water, salt as needed
1. Wash and soak rice for about 10 minutes.
2. Heat the oil in a saucepan, add cumin seeds, asafoetida as seeds crackle add chopped onions and saute it.
3. Add chopped tomatoes, salt, turmeric powder, mix well and cook until tomatoes are tender.
4. Add cooked chickpeas and mix well. Add rice and 2.5 cups of water, mix and bring it to boil. Cover the pan and let it cook for about 10-12 minutes of low flame or until rice cooked and water evaporates.
5. When Pea Rice is ready, add garam masala and mix well.
Garnish it with coriander leaves before serving.
