Flavourful rice, basmati rice, which is rich in carbohydrates along with soya chunks, which is rich in protein, when combined together results in an awesome rice dish called Protein Rice.

½ cup basmati rice, ¼ cup soya chunks, ¼ onion, salt as per taste, 1 tsp oil, 2 cups water
1. Wash the rice well. Soak the rice for about 20 minutes. Drain the water and keep aside.
2. In a vessel, boil 1 cup water. Add the soya chunks and cook till they turn soft. Squeeze out the water from the soya chunks and grind to a powder.
3. In a pressure pan, add oil. Once warm, add the finely chopped onion and saute for 2-3 minutes.
4. Add the powdered soya chunks and saute for another 2-3 minutes. Add salt and 1 cup water.
Pressure cook for 2-3 whistles. Hot and delicious protein rice is ready to be enjoyed.
