Spring Roll

A scrumptious filling of sautéed veggies perked up with tangy sauces, packed inside readymade spring roll wrappers and then deep-fried till crisp are amazing, delicious starters. The same is packed with vitamin A, vitamin C, and antioxidants.

    Ingredients to make Spring Roll:

    1 cup shredded cabbage, 2 carrots grated, 1 capsicum thinly sliced, spring onions, 1 tsp pepper powder, 4 tbsp maida, 1 onion sliced, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp chilli sauce, 1 tbsp tomato ketchup, 4 spring roll wrappers.

    Steps to make Spring Roll:

    1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan on medium flame. Add sliced onions cook till they get light pink or translucent.

    2. Then add the veggies (cabbage, capsicum, carrot) and saute for 3-4 minutes with stirring constantly.

    3. Now add spring onion greens, salt and pepper. Stir to combine.

    4. Then add soy sauce, chili sauce and ketchup. Stir well and cook for a minute. The stuffing is ready.

    5. Now, make smooth, thick paste using all purpose flour and water. Keep it aside.

    6. Take one wrapper or sheet, put around 2 tablespoons of mixture at the end of one edge and roll then it tightly. Seal it using the paste made in the above step. You can make the sheets at home instead. Knead a smooth dough using maida, salt, oil and water. Make sheets out of it.

    7. Heat the oil in a skillet and fry all the rolls till they turn crispy and golden brown from all the sides.

    Remove them to a paper towel and serve hot or warm with dipping sauce.
