You can prepare this Tiranga Jelly as Independence Day special dessert on 15th August or simply on any other day and treat your child. This tri-colour jelly is not only a visual treat for the eyes but is equally delicious to the taste buds. Milk is an excellent source of many vitamins and minerals.

Ingredients to make Tiranga Jelly:

2 cups milk, ½ cup sugar, 2 tbsp. water, 1½ tsp. gelatin powder, ¼ tsp. lime juice, orange color and green color as required, ¼ tsp. orange essence, ¼ tsp. cardamom or pistachio essence, and ¼ tsp. vanilla essence

Steps to make Tiranga Jelly:

1. Dissolve gelatin in hot water by whisking thoroughly and keep aside.

2. Boil milk in a saucepan and add sugar and keep stirring until the sugar dissolves. Add the dissolved gelatin to the milk and stir well.

3. Quickly pour milk into three equal portion bowls. Add cardamom or pistachio essence and green colour in one portion, add orange essence and orange colour in another bowl, add vanilla essence and retain the milk colour itself.

4. Pour the green colour mixture into flat glass tray or moulds of your choice. Refrigerate it to quicken the thickening process

5. Once it is set, pour the white colour using a ladle over the green colour jelly. In case the white colour has set, reheat it lightly to melt and when it is warm gently pour over the green colour.

6. When the white is set, using a ladle gently pour the orange colour on top of white colour. If the orange jelly is already set in, do the same by reheating it. Ensure that all the three colours are in equal size. Refrigerate to set the Tiranga Jelly.
