Whole wheat momos are much healthier as compared to its counterpart of all purpose flour. Easy to digest and loaded with multi-nutrients, the whole wheat flour when filled with nutritional stuffing, is the healthiest version of a widely loved dish.

    Ingredients to make Veg Momos:

    Wheat flour (2 cups), oil( 4 tbsp), 1 onion finely chopped, 2-3 crushed garlic cloves, cabbage (2 cups) washed and shredded, 1 carrot grated, ½ capsicum chopped, 5-6 beans chopped, coriander powder( 1 tbsp), black pepper powder (½ tsp), water

    Steps to make Veg Momos:

    1. Take 2 cups of wheat flour and 1/4th spoon of salt in a bowl. Mix water and then knead to a soft dough. Rest it for 30 minutes.

    2. Now heat 2 tbsp oil in a large kadai, add crushed garlic and onion and saute it for a minute.

    3. Now, add capsicum, beans, cabbage and carrot and saute slightly.

    4. Next add the spices - coriander powder, black pepper powder. Season it with salt. Mix well and keep aside.

    5. Re-knead the dough for a minute. Divide the dough into small balls.

    6. Roll the ball to almost small chapatti size(4-5 inch dia).

    7. Keep 2-3 spoon of stuffing in the centre and start pleating to form the momo.

    8. Steam momos in a steamer or pressure cooker(same procedure as of idli) for 10-12 minutes.

    9. Once done, serve with homemade momos chutney and mayonnaise.

    You can be creative with the stuffing as per your choice. Use cottage cheese to enhance the taste.
