Dal ka Meetha is a traditional sweet, which is loved by kids. Chana dal is high in fibre, zinc, calcium, protein and folate. Nuts are natural power-packs of nutrients like vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, healthy fats, protein and fibre, which help children grow, develop and learn.

½ cup chana dal, 1/4 cup ghee, 250 gm khoya, 1/4 cup ground pistachios, 10 blanched almonds, 2 green cardamom, 1 litre milk, ½ inches cinnamon stick, ½ cup ground almonds, 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup blanched pistachios
1. Wash the dal and soak it in water for 60 minutes.
2. Drain and pressure cook with 4 cups of water for 5 to 6 minutes.
3. When cool, strain the dal and puree it with 1 cup of milk. Set aside.
4. Put the ghee in a pan on moderate heat.
5. When hot, season it with the cinnamon and cardamoms.
6. Mix in the pureed dal, khova and ground almonds and pistachios.
7. Add the remaining milk and sugar, stirring continuously on moderate heat, till the milk evaporated and a thick non-pourable consistency is reached.
Serve it hot or cold and decorate it with the slivered almonds and pistachios.
