Activation: To activate your FASTag, attach it to your vehicle's windscreen and link it with your Paytm app. The activation process will be completed automatically.
Recharge: To recharge your Paytm FASTag, just top up your Paytm wallet. As you drive through a FASTag-enabled toll gate, the toll fee will be deducted directly from your wallet. Follow the steps to add money in your Paytm wallet:
Log into your Paytm account.
Go to the ‘wallet’ section
Select ‘Add Money’
Enter the amount you want
Complete the payment
Since your FASTag balance is the same as your Paytm wallet balance, all you need to do is log into your Paytm account. Once logged in, you can see the balance under the ‘wallet’ tab.
Your Paytm FASTag is to be affixed to the inner side of your vehicle's windshield, preferably in the top-middle section. This placement enables RFID scanners to read optimally at toll plazas.
Maintaining an adequate balance in your FASTag account is important to prevent commuting hurdles. Insufficient balances might also force you to resort to cash payments or even result in a penalty (which is 2 times the actual amount). Therefore, regularly checking and recharging your Paytm FASTag account should become a part of your travel preparation.
The Paytm FASTag has revolutionised the way we experience road travel in India. Enabling efficient, contactless toll payments through RFID technology and offering easy online recharges have made highway transit smoother and faster.
So adapt to the digital toll payments shift with Paytm FASTag to enjoy hassle-free journeys.
Your vehicle tag may get blacklisted after a consistent negative FASTag balance. A blacklist of tags means a vehicle is not allowed to pay through FASTag at the toll plaza.
The maximum Fastag recharge amount for Paytm FASTag is Rs. 1 lakh. You can't have more than Rs. 1 lakh in your FASTag account anytime.
Your FASTag has a validity period of 5 years from the date of issuance.
In accordance with the new NHAI guidelines, waiting time at the toll plazas must be no more than 10 seconds. If it exceeds 10 seconds, drivers do not have to pay a toll fee.
With the RBI directive coming into force on March 15, the Paytm FASTag will no longer be usable by vehicle owners for toll payments on highways across India.
