Ahmedabad's driving test is conducted under the supervision of a Motor Vehicle Inspector. For this driver's test, the applicant must use a personal vehicle of the same category for which the applicant needs a DL. However, the applicant does not have such a vehicle; he can use a vehicle provided by the motor driving school.
When riding a 2- or 3-wheeler for the driving test, the driver must ride within an imaginary border of eight, and ensure that the vehicle never stalls. The invigilator then assesses his performance before he is allowed to ride on public roads.
To receive a four-wheeler driving licence, the applicant must undergo the test on a specially-designed road, and ensure not to touch any of the columns or else they are disqualified.
Afterwards, they will drive on a public road, and be judged based on their performance. In other words, depending on the applicant's performance, he either passes or fails.
If an applicant fails the DL test for any vehicle category, he may retake the test and apply to take another after 7 days. The re-test and all subsequent tests will come with a small fee.
