Step 1: Visit the online portal of the Telangana RTO.
Step 2: Scroll down the page and select the “Renewal of Licence” option.
Step 3: On the next page, read the instructions and hit “Continue”.
Step 4: Read all the guidelines and click “Continue”.
Step 5: Next, select the transaction type as “Licence Renewal” and click on the “Go” button.
Step 6: Fill out details like DL number, date of birth, place of issuance and contact number.
Step 7: Enter the OTP sent to your mobile number and fill in the captcha code.
Step 8: Complete the online payment process and print/download the acknowledgement receipt for future reference.

Grace period is nothing but the extension of time for the renewal of your Driving Licence after it expires. The DL will remain inactive or expired even during that period. Hence, you cannot drive a vehicle unless you renew the licence.
