Kolkata, the capital city of West Bengal, is where you can still find traditional modes of transport such as trams, hand-pulled rickshaws, etc. But over time, the city has also adopted more advanced modes of transport. Hence, you can see all kinds of motor vehicles on the roads. But to drive/ride a motor vehicle in Kolkata, you need to have a valid Driving Licence (DL) as mandated by The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
A DL comes with limited validity, so you need to get it renewed when the time comes. The Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) handle Driving Licence renewal in Kolkata, and this article will tell you how to go about it.
