Step 1: Log on to the official website of the RTO (Parivahan)
Step 2: Click on “DL Services” from the drop-down list under Online Services.
Step 3: Select state (Punjab) and click on “Apply for DL Renewal” from the available list of services.
Step 4: Next, click “Continue” after going through the instructions.
Step 5: Input details like your DL number and date of birth.
Step 6: Click on “Get DL Details” and verify the information.
Step 7: Select the DL category, state and RTO and click on “Proceed”.

You cannot drive a vehicle legally in Punjab if your DL is expired. As per The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, driving a vehicle without a valid Driving Licence is an offence.
