The General Insurance Council (GIC) has launched the 'Cashless Everywhere' initiative, recreating the landscape of health insurance in India. This initiative changes the conventional ways of health insurance claims, offering policyholders more flexibility and convenience.
Traditionally, policyholders had to select a network hospital if they wished to opt for cashless treatment. If they sought medical care outside these networks, they had to first pay the entire hospital bill and then raise a reimbursement claim. However, the 'Cashless Everywhere' initiative removed these restrictions, allowing policyholders to avail cashless treatment at any hospital, regardless of network affiliations.
Expanded Accessibility
Policyholders can now enjoy cashless facilities at a broader range of hospitals, giving them more choices and convenience in healthcare decisions.
Streamlined Procedures
The initiative simplifies the process for policyholders, removing the need for upfront payments and the subsequent reimbursement hassle when opting for treatment at non-network hospitals.
If you are planning for hospitalization or in case of emergency hospitalization at a non-network hospital, please request the hospital to send the cashless request in the specified format (download the Preauthorization request form) to our support email ID [email protected] for further assistance.
We would connect with the hospital for onboarding as a network provider, to be able to process your request for a cashless facility further. You may contact us at our helpline number 1800 266 2256 or email us at [email protected] for any assistance.
To initiate this process, the healthcare provider should submit a pre-authorization request using the specified format, which must be emailed to the aforementioned email ID within a specified time period.
For planned hospitalization, this should be done 48 hours before admission and in case of emergencies, within 48 hours of admission, so as to allow us time for onboarding formalities of the provider.
