If your name or address provided in your PAN Card is not correct, you can change it by submitting the required documents either through an online or offline process. The supporting documents required for correcting a name are any identity proof that carries your correct name and address such as Aadhar Card, Passport, Birth Certificate, Voter ID, Ration Card, Driving License, Bank Passbook, Gas Connection, Water Bill, and Electricity Bill.
Follow the below-mentioned steps to update or correct in the PAN Card.
Visit the NSDL Portal or UTIITSL portal.
Fill out the request form online.
Mention your existing PAN number details.
Select the parameters you wish to change. For example, you can opt for a name or address. change.
Upload all the supporting documents and click the submit button.
Once all the documents are submitted, a nominal fee has to be paid.
If all the details provided are correct, you will receive an acknowledgment number.
This acknowledgment number helps in tracking the status of an application for a PAN Card.
1. Visit the NSDL e-gov portal
2. Click on ‘Services’ and ‘PAN’
3. Find ‘Change/Correction in PAN Data’
4. Fill the online application form
5. After registration, you will receive a Token number on the registered email ID. Click on ‘Continue with PAN Application form’.
6. Choose ‘Submit digitally through e-KYC’
7. If you need a physical copy of the PAN card, select YES.
8. Scroll down to enter your AADHAR details
9. Fill up the relevant details and click on ‘Next’ and proceed to ‘Contact and other details’
10. Enter the ‘New Address’
11. Furnish address proof
12. Fill the declaration
13. Upload your ‘photograph’ and ‘signature’
14. Preview the form, enter your AADHAR details and double check your details
15. Make the payment
16. Continue and complete authentication
17. Enter OTP sent to the mobile number linked with your AADHAR
18. Continue to e-Sign
19. Accept Terms and Conditions
20. Download Acknowledgement Form
While submitting the correction form for the PAN Card, you will have to keep in mind the following points.
Do not use abbreviations while filling in corrections in the name column.
Do not use initials in the name column provided.
Keep all the supporting documents handy as scanned documents.
Pay the nominal fees as proposed by the Government.
Make sure you enter the CAPTCHA properly and hit the submit button.
Make a note of the acknowledgment number to track your application.
Complete the e-KYC application and sign it digitally.
The charges for correction or updations made in PAN cards can vary depending upon whether it is made online or offline.
For online corrections: Rs. 110.
Dispatch fee for outside India: Rs. 910
1. If the application is submitted through physical mode:
Physical PAN Card dispatched within India: Rs. 107.
Physical PAN Card dispatched outside India: Rs.1,017.
2. If the PAN application is submitted through paperless mode:
Physical PAN Card dispatched within India: RS. 101.
Physical PAN Card dispatched outside India: RS. 1,011
PAN application submitted using physical mode for e-PAN card and dispatched through the e-mail address of the applicant: Rs 72.
PAN application submitted using physical mode for e-PAN card and dispatched through the e-mail address of the applicant: Rs 66.
You can track the status of the corrections made to the PAN Card being submitted with the help of the acknowledgment number, that is provided after the successful submission of the form. Log on to the website and click on ‘Track PAN Card’. Once the window opens, enter the acknowledgment number, your existing PAN number, and other details. Now you can submit and track the status of your application.
