While helping your child fill his school bag is just alright, teaching him to follow the time-table and arranging books in the school bag regularly will make him help himself.

Steps:

1. Take your child's empty school bag and ask him to open the time-table.

2. Now as you call out the periods in the time-table, ask him to arrange his books in proper sequence according to the classes. Ensure that he keeps textbooks and notebooks separately.

3. Now ask him to keep his compass in the front section post. Tell him to check if he has taken all its contents. Ask him to check once more for assurance that nothing is left. Then close the bag properly and keep it on table so that he can just carry it to school after he gets ready.

With time, your child will love packing his own school bag, and become more and more responsible.
