Design Your Plant Markers!

At this stage, involving your prince in gardening is fun and a great learning activity but remembering what you have planted can be tricky, especially if you are planting your own organic garden. Try this activity to help your little prince identify the seedlings.

Planning for Your Child’s Financial Security

Requisites: Cardboard, markers, scissors, laminator sheets/ OHP sheets, PVA or craft glue, pop sticks / popsicle sticks.

Steps:

1. From the cardboard, cut different shapes of leaves or flowers or fruits or butterflies or caterpillars (Note: let these shapes be 7cm in size).

2. On these shapes write the names of the seeds you are planting. It can be flowers, fruits, veggies or herbs.

3. Assist you prince to decorate the shapes with his own design.

4. Laminate the shapes with the sheets, concealed in such a way they are water proof.

5. Glue the shape to the pop stick/popsicle stick.

6. Take care to insert the stick not too close to the seed planted in the soil.

Your prince will identify the plant when it sprouts by reading the name written on the shape, placed near it. He will also enjoy learning about germination of the seeds and also the names of the different plants.
