Requisites: An egg, glue, cotton wool, red coloured paper, paints and brush, black and red coloured sketch pen/marker

    Steps:

    1. Make a small hole on one end of the egg and remove the contents slowly. Wash the insides carefully to get rid of the smell and keep it to dry.

    2. Once it is completely dry, take a skin coloured paint as the face colour and paint the entire eggshell. Let it dry completely.

    3. Take the red coloured paper and cut two shapes out of it: A rectangle whose length approximately measures the diameter of the egg and the breadth around 2 cm and a semicircle with approximately the diameter of the egg.

    4. Make a base for the egg Santa with the rectangular piece of red paper by sticking it around the width of the eggshell at its bottom.

    5. Make a cone out of the semicircle-shaped red paper and glue it to the top of the eggshell. This now becomes Santa’s hat.

    6. At about ¼ inch from the tip of the pointed hat, bend the hat and stick a small cotton ball to the tip.

    7. Take some cotton wool and stick it around the hat base like Santa’s hair.

    8. Shape some more cotton wool into a “V” and stick it on the egg shell so that it resembles Santa’s beard.

    9. Shape a little cotton into Santa’s moustache and eyebrows and glue it in place.

    10. With the red sketch pen/marker, draw and colour the lips.

    11. With the black sketch pen/marker, draw the 2 eyes.

Your Egg Santa Claus is now ready to be displayed!

This activity brings out your child’s creativity and artistic skills to the forefront and adds to the festive mood and bonding at Christmas.
