Firework Art!

Firework art is an activity on paper which is an amazing way to bring out your child's creativity for New Year's Celebration.

Requisites: Paint- red, green, yellow and blue, large sheets of paper and cardboard tubes.

Steps:

1. Cut the cardboard tubes into different lengths, to create different size firework prints.

2. Dip the cardboard tubs into the paint and immediately transfer the paint and fireworks pattern onto the paper using a 'bounce and twist' motion.

3. Start printing the largest fireworks cardboard fan first and then print over the top with the next size and continue down to the smallest. You can also create single coloured fireworks with no overlapping using several colours. Leave this to your child's imagination.

4.You can get your child to add small amount of glitter to the wet paint to finish off the 'fireworks' effect.

5. Another idea is to fold an A4 size sheet into a card. Create the firework paint on the front and your child can write 'Happy New Year' or inside the card. He can also send it to his grandparents wishing them on the occassion.

While doing this activity, you can talk about different sizes, add to your child's vocabulary words like fireworks, New Year. Fine motor, creativity and language skills are built through this sparkling activity.

Note: Please don't place the cardboard tubs into the paint until you are ready to use them. If used earlier, the cardboard strips will become soft and break off.
