Get Creative With Puffy Art!

Painting is a super indulging activity for kids anyway. Puffy art is an even more creative way of painting which will be your kid’s new favourite way of painting! Introduce this technique to your kid and there is no going back! This activity needs a little supervision. But it can be done very easily and it is a very cool boredom buster! Try this out and display your child’s artwork on your fridge so everyone asks, 'Who made it?'

Requisites: Self raising flour, food colouring- different colours, paintbrushes, thick card paper, pencil

Steps:

1. Ask your child to draw whatever she wants to, on a piece of thick card paper, using a pencil.

2. In a bowl, mix a few tablespoons of self-raising flour with water to create a thick paste. Make sure it is not too thick. It should be of paint like consistency.

3. Add different colours of food colouring in separate bowls by performing the previous step.

4. Ask your child to paint the picture drawn by her, using the different colours of paint mixture made, using a paintbrush.

5. After the painting is completed, put the card paper in a microwave and set the timer for 20 seconds.

6. After the timer runs out, you will see that the self-raising flour in the paint mixture would have risen to create a puffy effect on the card paper. This will stand out as if it is embossed onto the card paper creating a 3-D texture.

Your puffy art is now ready to be shown off! This activity is a creative outlet for your child as she will draw and paint the picture according to her imagination. It also helps improve the concept of colours.
