This learning activity will make your kid understand how his 5 five senses gather information about the world around him. Each sense provides information about a different aspect of the object they encounter.
Contents
Requisites: Coconuts (at least one whole and one opened coconut), chart, and markers.
Steps:
1. Give your child a chance to study the whole coconut a well as the inner part using his five senses.
2. Ask your child to think of words to describe how the coconut looks, feels, tastes, sounds and smells.
3. On a chart paper write the heading –Describing a coconut using the five senses.
4. Create and name each column, one for each sense. Draw the appropriate sense organ next to each name.
5. In each column write down your child’s description using the respective sense.
6. Add a drawing of coconut and decorate the chart.
This engaging science activity is a great way to show how his 5 senses function to gather information about objects in the surroundings.
