Your pre-schooler's brain cells are developing and grasping whatever the eyes see and endeavor. Whenever you are planning to introduce him to nature, explain it in your own way like Alice in Wonderland's garden or Peter Rabbit's garden. Think about the stories your child has heard or read to get ideas for the garden activity.

Requisites: Coconut/ egg shells, Empty egg tray, net hangings or string for hanging coconut shells, Soil, Compost, Seeds (Coriander/ Fenugreek/Peas/ black Grams/ beans etc.), Deep plastic container, Water, Drill machine for hole in coconut shell.

    Steps:

    1.     Wash and dry shell thoroughly.

    2.     Take soil and compost into the plastic container, mix it properly.

    3.     Puncture three holes on the upper side of the coconut shell and tie it up with a string.

    4.      Leaving  ¼ empty from the top, fill up the coconut shell with compost and soil mixture properly.

    5.     Place seeds inside the shell or sow them in the compost and soil mixture.

    6.     Sprinkle some water on it.

    7.     Place them outside where they can receive ample amount of sunlight and air.

After one or two weeks you can see the small sprouts on it.

Note: Sprinkle water depends on weather conditions, keep the soil moist.

This kind of interaction can nurture a sense of responsibility for nature in your little one.
