You can slowly make an effort to make your kiddo slightly more independent. Hair wash can be a tricky job to learn for your kid and a harrowing task for you as a parent. This activity will not only teach him about cleaniness but it will strengthen his hand muscles too.

Requisites: Shampoo

Steps:

1. Teach your kid about the importance of shampooing his hair. Tell him that, "Our hair needs revitalization just like our body. It is very necessary to keep them clean and healthy. Shampooing is effective in order to check on hair strength and growth".

2. You can offer a quick demo to your kid so that he can learn how to shampoo his hair on his own. Use shampoos that are child friendly and will not be harsh or irritating to his eyes or scalp.

3. Make him sit comfortably and let him enjoy the act. Don't fuss at his mess.

4. Observe the child while he practices it. Make sure he doesn’t hurt his eyes with the foamy liquid.

It would take few days for the kid to perfect this task. This is a very useful adaptive task. Apart from shampooing there are more hair maintaining activities such as oiling which should also be taught to your child.
