At school, your child is getting introduced to shapes. He is asked to relate to real life situations. For instance, the classroom door is a rectangle in shape. You can reinforce the concept of shapes at home by doing a simple activity with your child. While doing the activity ask questions like Which shape does the window or a plate resemble. This way you are extending the learning.
Steps:
1. Things you will need: Coloured card, Marker pen, Coloured glass gems, Ruler.
2.Guide your child to draw different shapes like square, rectangle, triangle and circle on the coloured cards.
3.Let him place the coloured gem stones along the lines of these shapes. Encourage him to use his creativity in creating pattern using the different coloured gems like green red, green red or alternate sides green and red etc.
4. Once done, ask him to draw the shape without lines. When done with basic shapes, let your child make his own pictures using gem stones.
This activity works on hand eye coordination, concentration, language development(about shapes) and experimenting with shape and space. Next time you collect pebbles or stones, you could try this activity.
Just as fostering your child’s cognitive, social and creative skills is essential for their success, securing their financial future is equally important. Investing in a life insurance plan, such as a 1 crore term insurance, can provide extensive coverage for your child's education and personal milestones. You can also use a term insurance plan calculator to easily find the right plan, coverage amount and premiums based on your budget and your child’s goals.
Adding term insurance to your financial strategy is a smart and affordable way to provide extensive financial security to your loved ones in today’s ever-evolving world.
