Team AckoFeb 8, 2024

It’s now time to enhance the creative side of your little one. Your child, at this stage, is very imaginative and creative. Given the right push, your child can direct all the creative juices into something productive.

This is a super-fun activity for your little one as children love animals and specially dragons. This activity not only is one to have fun with, but is also a learning experience for your little darling!

Requisites: A4 white cardboard (you can also use a paper plate and cut strips out of the rim of the plate for hair), scissors, color pencils, glue, colorful shredded tissue paper, A4 color paper – two different colors, sticky tape, curly ribbon, two chopsticks, glitter, stickers, fabric scraps

    Steps:

    1. Firstly, trace the shape of a dragon’s head onto the white cardboard and cut it out. Then, draw the feature with color pencils like - the eyes, mouth and nose. The use of color pencil is just to add a little more texture and color to the dragon’s face. Then, stick the shredded paper on it as hair.

    2. Now, cut 3 cm strips from the colored paper, and put some glue to create end to end two long strips. Now put the two strips together at right angles to each other.

    3. Fold one strip on another to create the crease and repeat this with another strip and continue until you have a long folded concertina like a piece. Close the second end with glue.

    4. Then using the sticky tape, attach one end of the folded strip to the dragon’s head and stick the curly ribbons to the other end like a tail. And finally, stick the two chopsticks with the tape, one at the back of the head and other one at the end of the tail. You can decorate it with all sorts of things like-glitters, stickers or fabric scraps. And your quirky Chinese Dragon is ready!

This activity is a bit tricky for your little one to do it independently, so you need to supervise this activity all along. But once your child is done with it, it will certainly bring a big smile on his face.
