This activity is a great way to make your child learn about different cultures. One of the best-known Chinese New Year traditions is the practice of giving red envelopes.
Requisites: Red construction paper, ruler, scissors, glue stick, pencil, gold glitter pen, money and sticker.
Steps:
1. Using the ruler, have your child measure a 6” x 6” square on the red construction paper and cut it out.
2. Show your child how to take the bottom corner and fold it into the centre of the paper.
3. Now, help your child take the right corner and fold it into the centre of the paper, creasing the paper firmly. Use the glue stick to attach the right side onto the bottom side, making sure to leave the envelope pocket open.
4. Take the left side corner and do the same. Glue it on top of the other folded paper, making sure the envelope pocket is still open.
5. Now, fold the top corner down, but do not glue it down. Turn the envelope over to the other side.
6. Decorate with Chinese characters using the gold glitter pen on the envelope.
Once the craft is complete, let her put in some money and give it to a loved one as a way to spread good will in the New Year.
Your child's all-round development combines formal education and creative activities. Mosaic art, for instance, develops hand-eye coordination and boosts confidence, which are the precursors to intellectual and emotional development.
Just as nurturing your child’s growth requires attention, securing the future involves proactive financial planning. Term insurance will provide your loved ones with financial protection for unforeseen emergencies. Considering the rising living costs, choosing a 1 crore term insurance plan will ensure sound protection.
When deciding on a life insurance plan, use a term insurance calculator to estimate the right coverage and premiums and always choose a plan that guarantees long-term financial security.
