Requisites: Coloured poster board, markers, index cards, adhesive velcro strips.

    Steps:

    1. Have your child write the seven days of the week and the twelve months of the year and the numbers 1-31 on the index cards, one on each card.

    2. Also write the words sunny, cloudy, rainy, hot, and windy on each index card and draw a picture below to describe the weather.

    3. Place a piece of velcro on the back of each card.

    4. At the top of the poster, have your child write ‘today is’  and after leaving enough space to fit in three index cards, write ‘the weather is’.

    5. Have your child find the correct card for the day of the week, month, date and weather. Show her how to use the velcro to attach the card to the poster board.

After you both make the poster be sure to incorporate updating the poster into your morning routine. This will keep your kid updated about each day!
