Requisites: ½ cup of bicarbonate soda, ½ cup of citric acid powder, moulds, sieve, rubber gloves, food coloring, herbal tea bags such as lemon, chamomile etc, an essential oil such as lavender, peppermint, sweet almond oil.
Steps:
1. Make the base mix, for this sieve the bicarbonate soda and citric acid powder in a large dry mixing bowl. This will be enough to make four bath bombs.
2. To make a bath bomb take ½ cup from the above mix in a medium bowl and stir it with the contents of herbal tea bag and set it aside.
3. Take a small bowl and combine 6 drops of essential oil, ½ teaspoon of sweet almond oil and 8 to 12 drops of food coloring of your choice or till you get your desired color for the bath bomb.
4. Now mix this mixture of color with the bath bomb mixture and stir it quickly to avoid fizzing.
5. Wear rubber gloves and mix them properly with your hands. It is essential to do it with your fingertips and not with a spoon as the liquid needs to be distributed properly.
6. Take a mold and apply a little almond oil inside it. Fill the mold with the ready mixture and pack it firmly.
7. Make the other bath bombs by repeating the above steps and leave these bath bombs to set for at least 24 hours.
8. After they set, turn each mold and bang it firmly once on a surface. Remove the bath bombs out of it with the ease.
Remember hot water is essential to activate the fizz of the bath bombs whereas cold water does not work on it. You can give different shapes to your molds such as heart, ball or a star.
