Some Colorful Fun With Ladyfinger

Throw open the doors of creativity and engage your kiddo in a creative painting activity by innovatively using ladyfinger imprints.

Requisites: A paper with a drawing that needs to be colored, different colored bottled paints, a few hard ladyfingers (a soft squishy ladyfinger will not give proper imprints), knife to cut the ladyfinger

Steps:

1. With the help of the knife, cut out the stem of the ladyfinger to get an evenly exposed pentagonal shape (Make sure that your child is kept away from the knife).

2. Let your toddler dip this cut ladyfinger (pentagonal face) into a paint color of his choice. Remove excess paint.

3. Use this colored ladyfinger like a rubber stamp and let him imprint the colored pentagonal design onto the drawing. Keep dipping into the paint after every couple of imprints.

4. Use a different ladyfinger for another color.

5. Complete painting the entire drawing in this manner.

This activity will help your toddler develop hand-eye coordination and muscle mobility and at the same time throw open the door to creativity. It will also promote the concept of colors, shapes, designs and patterns. As with all activities, it will also provide a wonderful platform for parent-child bonding.
