A natural phenomenon symmetry is not only a property of natural symmetry , patterns and chaos, this resource allows children to create symmetrical patterns.

Steps:

1. Use shells, pebbles and other natural materials to make large scale symmetrical patterns and explore other simple mathematical concepts together.

2. Finding symmetry in nature- outdoor math activity for kids- took pictures of various items we found on the walk: leaves, sticks tree stumps and pinecones. We made guesses on if we thought they were symmetrical and talked.

3. By understanding the symmetry of natural patterns , we have the opportunity making something less symmetrical pattern formation.

4. Ask your kid to create a symmetrical pattern by drawing the missing shapes.
