The Burning Candle Experiment For Scientific Learning

At this point, your child must be introduced to the concepts in science an early age so that he doesn’t face any problem from it later. You can start with simple experiments which are easy and helpful- for instance the candle burning activity.

Steps:
1. Take three jars of different sizes and place them on a table. Now take three burning candles and cover them with the jars.

2. Ask your child to observe which candle burns the longest. The candle in the bigger jar would last long due to excess air (oxygen) which is required for burning.

3.Make your child understand that since the jar had more air it helped the candle to burn.

This is a good activity to make the child learn about science and its secrets. The next time you can take few more jars of varying sizes to further test the mind of the child.
