A healthy woman under 30 years of age has only 20 percent chances to get pregnant but yes, a few things can increase the chances of getting pregnant. Let's list them below:
Probably you may think that you can have sex at any time but the thing is that if you have sex at the time of the ovulation then there are maximum chances to conceive. The process takes approximately the time of 2 weeks on average, beginning with a female's menstruation.
Once the egg is matured, it is being released from the ovary and the process is called ovulation. The egg then travels down the fallopian tube towards the uterus. The mature egg's life is only for 24 hours.
If the egg is being fertilized by a sperm during this time then it gets attached to the uterine lining and forms an embryo.
So, it is better to have maximum sex during those days. In that way, the sperm cells are already in the fallopian tubes during this span of time and the fertilization occurs very easily. Sperm can survive up to four to five days in the female reproductive tract.
To get the odds out of your life you need to be sure to have sex at the right time of your cycle. If you have regular cycles then you will ovulate two weeks before your cycle. This means that your fertile window is 7 days before your ovulation. But if your menses are not regular it might be difficult to predict the right time.
There are many techniques that can help you to pinpoint ovulation time. These techniques include
These kits are similar to urine pregnancy kits and easy to use kits. You can use these strips by urinating on them every morning. These strips predict the LH hormone that is the luteinizing hormone that surges right before ovulation. So, once it is positive on the kits, you should have sex for several days after that.
Basal body temperature is an indicator of ovulation.
As the ovarian follicle contains the mature egg, the estrogen level rises and this makes your mucus thin and slippery. Once you observe these signs, you should start having sex every day or every other day so that the chances of pregnancy are higher.
This can be done under medical supervision by doing certain tests or ultrasounds.
There are several myths about positions and orgasms but none have been proven anywhere. However, it has been proven that some of the lubricants interfere with the fertility of the sperms by interfering with sperm mobility and viability. So, make sure to choose only sperm-friendly lubes.
A healthy body is key to a healthy pregnancy. So, opt for some healthy lifestyle changes like:
-Getting to a healthy weight
-Improving diet or exercise habits
-Eliminating alcohol
-Quitting smoking
-Less intake of caffeine
Most couples conceive within a year of regular trying. But if you're not successful, then you need to see your doctor for other options especially if you are over 35 years of age. It is really difficult to wait if you are trying to get pregnant. Yes, at times it is really frustrating but a little patience is needed as if it is not working now does not mean it will not work at all.
