Finding a match

For the prospective surrogate:

Here, the surrogacy professional will work to find a family that matches the surrogate’s preferences on-

-The type of intended parents based on race, religion, age, sex, etc.

-The type of relationship she'd like to have with the prospective intended parents, etc.

Based on the above data collected, the surrogate professional will devise a profile of text and photos of the prospective surrogate, which will help the intended parents get an idea about the latter and why she wants to go for surrogacy.

For the prospective intended parents:

Here, the surrogacy professional will create a profile that includes information and photos of the intended parents.

-Doing this exercise is for both the parties to know whether they are right for each other.

-Once that is established, the match is found. Now, the surrogacy professional will co-ordinate a meeting or phone call to know each other well.

Legal requirements

Now that both the parties are okay with each other and have decided to go ahead with the surrogacy plan, a legal contract is drafted to make it official. Each party will meet with their respective surrogate lawyer, the terms of the contract are reviewed and signed by both.

For prospective surrogates:

The prospective surrogate’s lawyer will review the terms and conditions of the contract wherein the fees components, possible risks, and other conditions agreed upon by both parties are reviewed. She will start receiving a monthly allowance as part of the total costs.

For prospective intended parents:

The fee components, your legal rights, possible risks, and other conditions where there has been mutual consent is reviewed.

After the first trimester, the attorney will prepare a pre-birth order that includes the names of the parents in the birth certificate. You can also make medical decisions for the baby.

After the contract is signed by both the parties, fertilization and pregnancy phase starts.
