During pregnancy, you might have experienced thick, lustrous, and full hair but after delivery, all your hair beauty seems to fade away and you start experiencing severe hair fall. This continuous falling of hair keeps you worried, adding more stress to your mind and body. Hair fall is a matter of big concern but relax! What causes hair fall after delivery?

Normally we lose at least 70-100 hair strands daily but increased level of estrogen during pregnancy halts the hair fall process. This is due to the increased estrogen in our body, which causes our hair to be in the resting phase (growth process) of hair growth cycle resulting in thicker and healthier looking hair. After delivery, the estrogen levels decline, however, all your hair that was resting, begins to fall out. This usually starts at about 3 months after the baby's delivery and can last up to 6 months to one year.

However, it’s a complete hormonal procedure and will subside by itself but there is a way out. You can prevent hair fall after delivery to some extent with some treatments that make your hair appear fuller and healthier again.
