Team AckoFeb 8, 2024
While introducing new foods to your child, you should be aware of the eight foods that causes 90% of food allergies. They are milk, wheat, soy, eggs, peanuts, treenuts (walnuts or almonds), seafood and fish. Also, consult your child's paediatrician about food allergens.
Start introducing new foods gradually. Introduce one new food along with foods that are safe and wait for 3 to 4 days before starting a new food item.
You can also get an allergy test done to find out the sensitivity of your child to these foods. Your child's pediatrician can guide you more about the test.
Few allergies go away with time like milk and egg allergies while rest can continue.
If your child develops rashes, swelling, vomiting, coughs or wheezes, has difficulty breathing, immediately consult the doctor. It could be a severe allergic reaction to a new food.
