    • Your little one at this stage is quite tiny and hence, needs all the gentle care in the world. Be careful and support your baby's head and neck. Cradle the head when carrying your baby and support the head when carrying the baby upright or when you lay your baby down. Your little one is too delicate at this point and thus, extra cautiousness is essential while handling her.

    • A newborn is too delicate to be handled casually. The experience of holding your baby for the first time is priceless. There are so many emotions playing out in your head, it is almost overwhelming. Although it is natural to be a little scared while holding that tiny bundle of joy in your arms, holding a baby is all about the right amount of care and technique.

    • The most delicate part of the baby is her head. As an infant, she has no consciousness of her body parts and thus does not know how to hold herself steady. Therefore, in the initial few months, from the time of her birth, you as a parent should take extreme care in the way you pick up or hold the baby.

    • At all times support her head while lifting her up from or putting her into the crib or bed. Even while you are carrying the baby around, ensure to keep your hands on her head at all times. The neck is the most sensitive part of your baby’s body and should be held steadily with a support till the time the baby learns to hold it steady on her own.
