At this age, your baby is probably quite clingy, which makes it hard for you to go out. Your baby may get upset when you leave. This is because he has no concept of time yet, and does not realize that you will be returning after a certain period of time. He may feel scared and abandoned.

It is therefore very important that you bid your kid goodbye and explain that you will be back. Even if he does not understand every word you say, he will get the drift. You can also back it up with gestures. For example, point at yourself, then at the door, then mimic coming back into the room.

You may think that your kid will cry on seeing you leave and so leaving quietly would be a better option, but it is not so. Do not sneak out to fool your baby; it will only scare him and make him more insecure.
