There are things parents should religiously do with their kids every day to form a secure and life-long bond. Most of the parents are too busy nowadays; they are unable to spare time for their kids. By doing so, parents unknowingly weaken the bond of love and affection between them and their kids. But in spite of the busy schedule, parents should always try to give a portion of their day to their kids; some loving, cozy and happy moments that they can cherish for the rest their life. Also, never fail to show your kid that he is really important and means the world to you.
You can definitely take help of these 7 ways, that you should do every day to show your love and affection to your kid.
Every child is unique and special in their own way. It is the duty of every parent to make them understand this. Every child excels in one way or the other, appreciate them for that particular ability and tell them they are incomparable. Tell them often how special they are to you. Also, take time off in the day to say you love them the most in the whole world. As your child hears this daily, he will feel more secure and loved. Make them understand that you will not stop loving them no matter how difficult the time may be. Lastly, just give a bedtime kiss and say, ‘l love you.’ This will surely make them happy and relaxed.
Parents are the best source of strength for their children, and an encouraging parent can shape a better future for their children. Kids get discouraged and disappointed very easily and it is a normal tendency found in most of the tiny tots. Parents are the only people who can make them feel secure if they know that their mom and dad trust and believe in them completely. Tell your kids that you understand them and respect their decisions. For example: Encourage your kid for some activity like singing, dancing or any other sport, then give her some motivation that she can do it when she least believes in herself. Also, try to involve yourself during her practice session by helping her in the best possible way you can. Lastly, when they feel low and incapable of doing it, just confidently tell her, ‘I know you can!’ This will give her a new energy to start it all over again and with a more positive attitude. Also, a daily dose of encouragement (for studies, sport or any other activity) can motivate them for a better performance.
Showing physical affection to your younger kids will make them feel loved and definitely you will tend to raise a more cheerful child. Obviously, physical affection could embarrass a teen kid and so words of support or empathy will take the place of it. Allow your child to connect with you fully, take time off and enjoy with them, hug them, kiss them and let them crawl on your lap. There is no need to show and make them feel it every hour of the day, but a loving bedtime kiss and a hug before going and after coming from school will do the magic. Many studies show that kids thrive on love and warmth. Hence, most doctors suggest, for a skin to skin contact with a mother and a baby after childbirth. A loving physical affection lessens the chance of your kid to become aggressive, anti-social or having other behavioral problems.
Children can cherish quality time spent with them, all their life. Also, a portion of quality time in a day can lead to a better development of the child, both socially and emotionally. Try to build a happy atmosphere at home, laugh with them as much as you can, it will also act as a stress buster for kids. More specifically try to be present entirely with your child both physically and mentally. Play with them games they like to play with you, it can be hide and seek or chess. Have fun, be together, also, do not over schedule your kid’s routine, that is, cut out one or two activities, let them have some down time with you to enjoy the time at home.
Praying is a great way to teach gratitude to your kids, as it is a way of saying thank you to God for everything he has given. Also, you can make a short thanksgiving prayer and ask them to say it before their meals and bedtime. Practice this habit of praying daily with your kid and try to visit a temple or a church or any other sacred place you like with your kids at least once a week to make them feel the love, war, th and peace God gives us. It’s a good way to imbibe positive thoughts in your child.
Tell your kid that you are the luckiest parent in the world to have a kid like her, as they have illuminated your life. Take the time to point out any positive aspect of their behavior, tell them it makes you happy when they do that, as children enjoy knowing what they do that make other people happy. Also, let them know that you are so grateful to God because you got a chance to nurture a wonderful kid like her. Spend some happy hours with them, crack jokes or do something that makes them laugh. Point out things that they think are funny and ultimately makes them happy and if nothing works just tickle them and when they laugh tell them their smile makes you happy too.
Mealtime is the best family time together. Try to have at least one meal together with your kids, it can be breakfast, lunch or dinner, but make sure you have strictly turned off your smartphones and TV during this time. Have a small chit-chat with your little buddies if you were busy for rest of the day. Your kids will enjoy their meal with you and will surely eat properly as well.
