    • Currently, a lot in your child is manifested through what he preceives of you, from you. Shouting, fighting, or loud behaviour in front of your child can set a bad example for him to follow, so restrain such behaviour in his presence. Seeing you shouting will teach him to do the same in his own interactions with his peers.

    • If you disagree with someone, let your child observe you settling the issue amicably, through quiet mutual discussion. If you cannot avoid having a loud confrontation with someone, take it to another room.

    • Be aware of your own behaviour at all times, as your child is constantly watching and imitating you. Let him observe you maintaining a polite and cordial manner with friends and your family members always.

    • If your child is shouting over an issue with his friend, make him sit down together calmly, ask them about both of their issues, and teach them to resolve the matter together by talking things over and reaching a mutually atisfactory result.
