Encourage Using The Imagination In Everyday Activities

Team AckoFeb 8, 2024

Imagination is such a great learning mechanism for your child's young mind primarily because it encourages healthy thinking, exercising your child's mind to be able to come up with all sorts of different ways to make a boring task, a very interesting and a fun activity. Here are a few ideas!

1. If your child is constantly bored of picking up her toys after a jolly time with them, help her create a fun game out of it, by telling her to throw all of her soft toys into the box. This gets two jobs done - your child will learn to clean up after herself AND she stays engaged throughout!

    2. Introduce roleplay to your child. Help create simple situations like a doctor and a patient, a teacher and a student, so on and so forth. This will promote good imaginative play, helping her understand how pretend play actually works.

    3. Make storytelling a habit. Dramatize the narrative so that she remains involved with the story till the end. This will help create a mental picture while you tell her that the girl had long hair or wore a red dress.

    4. Make everyday chores interesting by inculcating a fun imaginative index. This can be as simple as putting some rubber toys in her bathtub as she bathes. This will make her look forward to those boring routines.

    5. Motivate your child to come up with games of her own just by introducing new objects to her. Let her explore the object all by herself and figure out what she can do with the same. Remember to keep a close eye on your child at all times so she does not hurt herself.
