Give Plenty Of Praise When it is Deserved

Positive reinforcement goes a long way in the growth and development of your child, as it shows your child that good behaviour does not go unnoticed. The reward centre of the brain can be a marvellous thing to use to instil good behaviour in your child. Here are a few ways you can help your child to do so:

1. Encouraging your child when he doing something good with a big smile is a great way to positively reinforce good behaviour in him. When your child sees the happiness on your face when he is doing something good, he will always want to see it and will keep doing well!

2. Praising your child when he offers to or is helping someone with what they are doing. The knowledge that what he is doing is helping others too will be an added happiness which he will always remember.

3. Rewarding your child when they do good things with simple things, such as a hug or a piece of chocolate is also a great way of reinforcing good behaviour in him. Sweet memories with a sweet taste in their mouths are definitely a great way of reinforcing good behaviour.

4. Remember that your child does everything with pure intentions. If they are doing something in the wrong way, do not be harsh on them or stern on him. Be empathetic and encouraging and let him know that he is trying to do something good but he is not doing it the right way.
