Your child at this stage can be quite fussy about his meals, however, she is old enough to know the value of food and how one should consider themselves lucky if they get meals on time because there are many out there, who die daily out of hunger. You may have frequent mealtime battles with your kid where she flatly refuses to eat the nutritious food you have painstakingly prepared for her. You need to make your kid understand that a lot of effort goes into preparing a meal.

Have fun cooking sessions with your kid. Make her observe all the steps, right from washing and peeling the vegetables to pouring the finished dish into a serving bowl. This way, she will learn to have concern for you and eat the food you serve because it has been prepared with love for the whole family.
Take your kid along when you go food shopping. Let her see how you need to go around buying each item and paying for all of it. Let her unpack and store everything away with you. This will also teach her to value and respect food.
