Important Thing To Remember When Letting Your Child Play Independently

Team AckoFeb 8, 2024

There are times when your child needs a routine, like bed time, and also times when she needs free, unstructured time to allow her imagination to run free and grow. Make sure that your kid has some independent play time every day. At this time you should not direct her activities, but leave her to come up with games and activities of her own.

Give your child creative toys that encourage solitary play. You can get her some age-appropriate puzzles and some drawing and painting implements. Bricks and blocks will encourage your little one to build up structures, enhancing her motor skills and sense of proportion and balance.

Leave your child alone when she is having an independent play session. If she wants, you can be in the same room, but do your own thing and try not to engage with her. Do not give ideas unless your child asks for them. Do not make fun of any of her ideas, however silly they might be.
