Introduce new foods by combining with your kid's current favourites

Team AckoFeb 8, 2024

As a parent, you will know how tricky it can be at times to get your kid to eat a healthy, balanced diet. You need to employ all your ingenuity to coax your little one into eating something he may not be too fond of. A great trick is to disguise a healthy food item and present it in an appetizing manner.

For example- if your child is not willing to eat green vegetables then incorporate it into his favourite food item. Grated carrots or chopped spinach can be added to parathas and new fruits can be combined with his favorite fruits to make delicious smoothies. Or you can combine all fruits together (his favorites and least favorites) and make a fruit salad and present it to him in a ravishing way.

Another effective tip is to make the food look fun so that he is tempted to eat it. Cut sandwiches into funny shapes, or make animals out of pieces of cut veggies. Two grapes for eyes, a piece of papaya for a nose, a slice of watermelon for a mouth – and you have a super fun fruit salad that your little one will gobble up with delight!
